From a Flipper’s Floor to a Fresh Start

When Lauren bought her home two years earlier, the kitchen “laminate” came with it. It was already chipping and buckling, the hallmark of a job done fast and cheaply by the house flipper who sold her the property. The half bath needed new flooring, too. Simple Flooring came in to remove the damage and install luxury vinyl plank throughout both spaces. This time, it would be done right.

The Challenge: Undoing What Shouldn’t Have Been Done

The kitchen floor was in worse shape than a typical removal job. The flipper’s laminate had been laid without proper subfloor preparation, and two years of daily use had pushed it to the point of failure. Before any new material could go down, the underlying issues had to be corrected. Rushing past that step would only repeat the same mistake.

The Process: Getting It Right

A Same-Day Visit and Smart Sample Tech

John came out within a day of Lauren’s call. He arrived with sample boards, each with a QR code, so she could scan and pull up an AI-generated image of how each option would look on her actual floor. She chose the “Pale George” colorway before the estimate was even finalized. Scheduling followed within a week.

Ripping Out the Problem at the Root

Igor arrived to remove the failing laminate and address the subfloor before anything new went in. The flipper’s work had left damage that added time to the project, which both Igor and Lauren had anticipated going in. Igor stayed as long as it took rather than cut the job short.

A Floor Worth the Wait

Once the subfloor was properly prepared, the LVP went in across the kitchen and half bath. Clean transitions, solid installation throughout. No shortcuts, no leftover problems.

The Result: Pale George and No Regrets

  • Timeline: May 2026, completed as planned.
  • Service: Floor removal, subfloor correction, and LVP installation.
  • Flooring: LVP “Pale George”.
  • Scope: Kitchen and powder room.
  • Outcome: Flipper’s failed laminate replaced with properly installed LVP throughout both spaces.

The “Pale George” LVP looks completely different from what was there before. Lauren went in knowing exactly what to expect on pricing, timeline, and scope. The floor delivered on all of it.
